"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013."

Hunter: As part of his sharing Hunter had to show a photo of him at a playground - we met up with my sister and her kids at the school near their house. Hunter enjoyed climbing!

Savannah: Having cuddles on the couch with baby Anne. We had been to the markets and got a new dress for baby Anne.

List 31 - topics brainstorm

This week Deb has asked us to come up with 5 or more topic ideas for future Listmania's. So here we go:

  • Musicals we have seen (or would like to have seen)
  • Sports/activities we did as a kid
  • Current hobbies
  • Something to do with jewellery - what do we own? Pieces that make you feel special/have sentimental value
  • Photograph of our typical look - what types of clothing do we usually wear (weekday/weekend)
  • We did what we like about Summer (or Winter depending on where we are from) - given it's now the opposite season a follow up of what we like about Winter would be great!

List 30 - Favourite board games

I always enjoy a rainy day staying inside playing board games. Favourites from my past include:
    Cludo
    Monopoly
    Trouble
The Game of Life – I didn’t own this game so always wanted to play it when we visited friends who had it!
The Babysitters Club – I loved this as I loved the series – but others weren’t so keen to play with me as I knew the books so well it was hard for me not to win!
    Battleship
    Twister
    Scategories
Canasta (card game) - spent many nights playing this one with my Mum and Grandparents when visiting them

Games I play with the kids (6 and 4 years old )
    Trouble
    Beetle
    Mousetrap
    Operation
    Hungry Hungry Hippos
Connect 4 (but usually Savannah likes to just take turns putting the coloured circles in – no connecting 4!)
    Monopoly (with Hunter)
I look forward to playing more board games with them – I might introduce family games nights!

Hunter: After attempting many sports which just haven't been "his thing", Hunter has started in Scouts. He is in the Joeys. In his 5th week he had his Investiture Ceremony. We now have a uniform and badges to sew on.

Savannah: She is big enough to make her own breakfast and choose her own clothes!

List 29 - Songs that tell a story

I have a few songs in my past that meant something to me!

Queen - We are the Champions - this one we would belt out in the car - my Mum, my sister and myself on the way to netball matches - and definitely for finals! Got us pumped!!

Tiffany – I saw him standing there  – I loved this one when I was in school – I remember my Gramps made me a tape of the album (Tiffany) for my birthday (and I’ve now gone to google to find out more and are remembering all the cool songs she sang that appealed to me at 10 – I think we are alone now and Could’ve been) – He had somehow copied it to the tape and made the cassette cover for me. I didn’t realise it was a Beetles song at the time so was a bit confused to the mention of the Beetles – but I loved the tape he did for me.

Toni Pearen - In your room   – I loved Toni Pearen in E-Street so was of course in love with her song. This was the first song I bought on CD. I used to come home from school and play it over and over and over!

There was a song which got me through the loss of our baby- and I can't for the life of me remember which one it was. I know it made me cry but also made me feel better. I've narrowed it down to either Angel - by Sarah McLaughlan or Fly by Celine Dion. Both beautiful songs!

Bryan Adams - Summer of 69 – Hubby and I really loved Bryan Adams and Summer of 69 was our favourite. We went to a few of his concerts and he has such great songs. We didn’t think Summer of 69 was suitable for our bridal waltz so we had I’ll Always Be Right There by Bryan Adams instead.  Such great words!

(This was the only clip I could find that wasn't a cover - not sure who the people are)

List 28 - list of lists

I make lots of list but often use them when I need them for specific reasons....a list of my lists include:

    • Menu plan
    • Shopping list
    • To do list – may be things to do that day – may be more general
    • Work lists - I have lots of lists and schedules at work for my tasks
    • Presents – I have many lists for presents – often one for the nieces and nephews indicating what I have bought the and one for each of my kids outlining what I have bought them or ideas for what to get them, then closer to Christmas I add in a list for all presents I have to buy including parents, Father in law etc
    • I have a daily chores chart on the fridge – but we haven’t been following it lately :(
    • I keep a list of books I want to read on goodreads (but also have over 500 books in my kindle – so generally just grab one that takes my fancy at the time)
    • We are about to start planning our holiday so I will start a list of things to do - then I will also need a list of things to pack!
    Are you a list keeper?
